J/R’s The Original Place for Ribs

Little History 

     We are proud to be celebrating almost 30 years in Ocean City, Maryland.  In the summer of 1980, Jack and his partner decided to open a specialty restaurant, featuring barbequed ribs, in Ocean City, Maryland.  Ribs were a brand new food item, so before they could present them to the public, the partners traveled to Texas, to Florida, and to Virginia to put together J/R’s now famous barbeque sauce.  Then they searched the meat markets to find exactly the right cuts of meat that were exactly what they wanted to serve their customers. 

     When they had the perfect combination, they opened the first J/R’s The Original Place For Ribs at 62nd street.  Years later, buy popular demand, the second J/R’s Ribs Restaurant opened at 131st street.  Since opening in 1980, our customers have increasingly been applauded J/R’s for our quality, our cleanliness and our service.  We want to thank you, our customers, who have helped us achieve our fine reputation and success. 

New To J/R’s in 2007 is the

Sinnott Family 

     New to J/R's in 2007 is The Sinnott Family. Jack decide it was time for retirement. He has turned the reins over to long time employee Jerry Sinnott. Jerry is no stranger to J/R's he has been apart of the J/R's management team since 1989. The Sinnotts have been entrusted with all the great recipes and secrets for the best ribs in town. Since taking over little has changed still quality food, great service and a fun family atmosphere. You will see the familiar faces of many servers and staff member from over the years.
